In this TED TALK, Sir Ken Robinson talks about the importance of creativity and how education is meant to prepare us for the future. He talks about how education is hurting kids and is causing them to lose the talents that they have. He discusses how the education system is set up where kids are afraid of doing things the wrong way. He says that "if you're not prepared to be wrong, you'll never come with anything original. Robinson encourages creativity because creativity allows for growth and gives potential to kids to pursue what they want. This relates to "The Right to Fail" by Williams Zinsser. In this article, Zinsser says that it is good to fail and how many people are scared to fail. Zinsser says that "in order to succeed, you have to accept defeat". These two people have very similar view points and believe that everyone must fail to succeed. This TED TALKS connects to the American Dream because many people fail along the way, but that isn't the end. This talks shows how we must get up after our worst defeats and go through the obstacles. This talk questions the education system and challenges creativity to broaden our minds. This speech was a classic and his point were very spot on and clear. This talk showed me how creativity is important to our world now and our future as well.
